Initial idea

From doing my research into the horror genre, and sub-genre paranormal horror I have decided that I want to make an opening sequence similar to Scream (1996). Someone is home alone when the phone rings, they pick up, but no one is there. Shortly after the phone rings again, the paranormal twist involved here is that there is no one there but a sound, white noise. 

From doing my research I think that the character should be a girl, and that this would be the perfect opportunity to begin the characterisation and establish setting / location which is one of my five main points to include from the ‘Research into story ideas’.
